The best way to help others is to do the work on yourself.
When all is said and done, you are in charge of your own healing and transformation. You are in charge of how you show up in the world, of how you react to situations and of the lessons you learn.
You cannot blame other people for not living up to your expectations, for not behaving in the way you want them to, for not saying the things you want them to say.
You cannot blame other people for the situation you are in.
You cannot force your beliefs onto another person even if you are 110% convinced that what you have to say is the best thing for them.
All you can do is live by example.
For the greatest way we can help others transform and heal is by doing the work ourselves. By showing up for ourselves. Every. Single. Day. Even when it feels hard. Especially when it feels hard.
Because what will happen is that the people in your life will wake up one day and look at you, and suddenly realise how you have changed for the better. How you set goals for yourself and worked toward them, overcoming obstacles and challenges along the way.
Others will be witness to your transformation, and they will be inspired to do the work on themselves.
Transform yourself and in turn, you transform others.
