Emotional Stirrings: Full Moon in Aries and the Heart's Call for Change

I expected to be more energised this week, what with the Full Moon in Aries and all, but I’ve felt a bit run-down. Funnily enough the full moon is in my 6th house of health and habits, prompting me to tweak my routines.

Any full moon brings in the concept of our relationship with something, whether that’s with another person, a job, a home, ourselves. Yet this seems amplified whenever we have Libra and Aries involved.

The dance between Libra and Aries is all about the ‘we’ and the ‘me’. It’s how we stay true to ourselves and don’t get lost in relationships; how we connect with others and learn the art of negotiation and compromise; how we bring balance between our need for solitude and for company.

As it’s the moon in Aries, you are likely to feel the effects more on an internal, emotional level. It’s that feeling in your heart that you need to make a change. Aries is fire and energy and action. It’s ruled by Mars, and to add another layer to it all, Mars is currently in the sign of Libra. So we have a bit of inception-like quality here in that Mars has been acting very Libra-like lately, weighing up all the options and acting the diplomat.

All the fire and air that we’ve got going on at the moment could result in a lot of ‘hot air’ blowing around (as an aside, I feel like that is happening with the campaigns surrounding the upcoming referendum here in Australia—people getting caught up in the hot air instead of the grounded facts and meaning).

Mars likes movement so find a physical way to shift the energy through a brisk walk, run, bike ride, vigorous yoga class, boxing class—anything that gets the heart rate up.

The good news is that we have Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto all in earth signs which can help ground and anchor ourselves. With aspects to Neptune it also asks us to connect with our dreams (both literal and figurative) to imagine what we want into existence through our heart-centred actions.

You don’t have to do everything yourself. Remember that there are lots of people around to help you fill in the gaps of your knowledge or skills, or assist you in some of the actionsCall in the relationships that will help you with your heart’s desires, and help others achieve theirs.

Next month we have eclipse season, so things can shift quickly. Get started on working out the actions you need to take to get to where you want to go.
